Tavern Law and Needle & Thread offer two distinct settings for private events in the heart of Capitol Hill.

Upstairs, Needle & Thread is an intimate speakeasy known for custom cocktails made to guest preferences, creating a personal, conversation-forward experience. Needle & Thread accommodates up to 36 guests and is the space used for parties of 36 or fewer.

For 37 to 100 guests, a full venue buyout combines both levels for a seamless evening. Downstairs, Tavern Law is a classic cocktail room with rich wood, soft lighting, and a long, welcoming bar. Both come with dedicated staff, curated cocktails, and coordinated catering options. Tavern Law is not booked on its own. Plan an event that begins with welcome drinks at Tavern Law and finishes in the speakeasy, or keep it cozy with a single-space gathering.
